HOW MANY SITTINGS ARE REQUIRED?

Once we have agreed the size, media and price of the commission, I will arrange a sittings of the portrait subject. Sittings vary depending on the size of the painting and whether its full length or head and shoulders. Generally a minimum of six sittings, of three hours per sitting, is required. Alternatively, if time or distance is restrictive, I am happy to work from initial sketches and then paint using photographs.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

This depends on the size of the work, the media and the finish required. As a guide, I would expect paintings to be in the range of £1,500 for a small portrait and £6,000 for a full length life size portrait of around 3ft by 5ft. Portrait drawings start at £500.
